Correctional Facilities

Boswell Pharmacy Services began in 1993 servicing local correctional facilities from its Boswell location. Since then, Boswell provides service to a multitude of State Correctional facilities throughout the United States. We are licensed to provide pharmacy services to Federal, State, and County correctional facilities, both adult and juvenile.

Our pharmacy management program is designed to satisfy the specific needs of our customers such as: billing per patient or per facility, pre-packaged prescription orders, medical administration records, customized forms necessary for daily operations and pharmacist consultant services.

We offer competitive pricing through our affiliation with group purchasing agents, buying groups and direct agreements with pharmaceutical companies. Furthermore, we identify costly prescribing patterns and provide alternative cost saving solutions.

We provide each facility with the necessary materials for start-up including: medication carts, fax machines, medical administration records (MAR’s), standardized forms for daily operations, and policy and procedure manuals. We provide site visits prior to and during start-up to ensure a smooth transition.

We receive prescription orders 24 hours a day. The orders are processed for Next Day delivery (Monday-Saturday) using our contracted Courier. We provide local back up pharmacy service in the event of an emergency to handle any STAT orders. We utilize a four check pharmacy system prior to medications leaving our facility to keep our error ratio well below the national standards (1:20,000).
